Hey! I’m Melissa, originally from South Africa and now based in the UK. I feel so privileged to create timeless, elegant looks for my brides, helping them feel beautiful and confident on such a meaningful day.

💋 My journey’s been as colourful as my lipstick collection - it all started with my first cornflower-blue eyeshadow at 5 years old. As a teen, I dreamed of being a beauty editor which led me to study journalism before I went to makeup school in 2011 where I really fell in love with transforming how people feel with makeup and hairstyling.

⛵ I've done a few other things in between, including sailing the seven seas when I worked on private yachts for a couple years which allowed me to travel to places one can only dream of! I’ve also always been an avid baker, so naturally found my way into the galley onboard and ended up as a crew chef, where creativity flowed. Then I swapped my sea legs for land again and re-trained as a pastry chef (which now happens to be a fun hobby!)

👰‍♀️I soon felt a great pull back to the hair and makeup world, especially weddings. I just love the energy of the day and being part of my brides' journey. I feel lucky to be part of such a big day and I cherish the personal connections formed along the way.

📺 Over the years I’ve worked in all areas of the industry. Many private clients have sat in my chair getting ready for events or photoshoots. I've worked on live TV shows and at the top news channel in South Africa (eNews Channel Africa). This experience means I’ve learnt to stay calm under the most time-pressed situations.

🎀 In 2021 I moved to the UK from South Africa and am thrilled to continue my bridal business here full-time. In 2022, in addition to freelancing I also worked at the DryBar in H Beauty Milton Keynes where I received training at the Harrods Knightsbridge store and mastered the art of a beautiful bouncy blow-dry which is one of my favourite hairstyles to do. 

💎My hair & makeup kit is my pride and joy, filled with only the best products. Continuous education is so important as trends and techniques are ever-changing so I regularly upskill myself with various courses and masterclasses with international icons. I love to create gorgeous, modern and timeless looks for my beautiful clients to look back on and still love years down the line!

✨I'm frequently told that I bring a sense of calm (and some laughs) to the job. You may notice that I'm quieter on the wedding morning than at the trial, simply because I like to get into my zone so you're not late for your wedding and you can just enjoy your time with your bridesmaids.

🌞It'll probably be bright and early when I arrive to get you ready but you can be sure I'll bring my smile and good energy.
